Two Hands Together or Two Hands Apart?

Did you pray today?
Were you thankful or did  you ask for more?
With two hands together or two hands apart?
Did you give today,or did you take?
With two hands together or two hands apart?
Did you lend a helping hand,
Or did you cross someone’s path?
Did you trip over your lies,
and held yourself from falling?
Or is it that you tore yourself to pieces?
With two hands together or two hands apart?

Did you stop and listen to someone’s pain in their laughter?
Or the hurt in someone’s nastiness?
Or fear in someone’s bitchiness?
Or the insecurities in someone’s nod and a shake of hands?
Were those two hands together or two hands apart?

Did you hear the storm coming?
Or hear the winds blow and see the lightening strike?
Did you hear the leaves sounding like the waves of the sea,
and the Sea sounding like the leaves on the trees?
Did you try and put your hands into the Ocean to reach the bottom?
Or grabbed all the sand into your fist, which slipped on to your toes?
Did you raise your hand to stop the setting of the sun?
Or tried to grab and hold on to a beautiful moment as it passed away,
With two hands together or two hands apart?

With two hands together or two hands apart,
We can hold hands that show us the way, the way to a better start,
It is up to us now my friends,
We walk hand in hand together or tear each other apart?

Waiting For The Muse

Hello friends! Has it ever occurred that you love to create and that creativity just doesn't come to you? OR you have a favourite band/ musician and you are waiting for them to release a song and you wait and wait? But isn't it also true that the adventure is in the wait and the chase? Life's destinations are the same, its the journey that is the challenge. Well here is a poem on the Muse! Enjoy!

Waiting for the Music

Is it that the flowers speak to the bees?

Or the leaves whisper to the trees?

And the shimmering dark ponds, gaze at Venus at night?

And when shall the moon shine out that light?

As we wait for the whistling winds to blow,

In the distance the fireflies glow,

When will we hear the music sweet, we ponder and wonder, we look, we seek?

When shall the muse strum her songs?

We have been waiting  just far too long!

And thus we gaze and thus we wait,

On her door steps and near the gates,

When shall she open her bolted doors?

And send her mellifluous music across the shores?

All Things Bright and Beautiful!

Hello dear friends, it’s the season to be jolly and thankful, with Thanks Giving , Christmas and the New Years. A final culmination of the whole year’s festivities. We should really be thankful for the food we eat, thankful for the world so sweet and thankful to God for everything. And so aptly starts, from Dec 1-Dec 12 in Lima, Peru, a conference on Climate Change UNFCCC. Climate change is the flavor of next year 2015 !  See: http://unfccc.int/meetings/lima_dec_2014/meeting/8141/php/view/schedule.php
It is all about our world and the environment, so important for the survival of the human race , we have to make a conscious effort for a change. We have to leave a beautiful world for our children, so the time is now. So, what started as a small story to tell my child about conservation and environment, without the computer graphics, I actually started constructing a story and then there was no stopping me.
I wrote a play on conservation, the environment and of course nature, and women as the conservers of nature personified in the heroine, I call Ariyana (not Ariana Grande, name is taken from the settlers which came to India and lived in the forest-the Aryans). I have uploaded on Amazon in the form of an e-book called: Ariyana- The Secrets in the Forest. It is available for a free download as well as my other e-books from  28 to 30 Dec 2014 at: http://www.amazon.com/Ashwini-Sane/e/B00KNNS7OK
Gender Day at the conference is on Dec 9  See: http://womengenderclimate.org unfccc
You can also see my page MyRandom Bks for more about the story, Cast of Characters , a pictorial representation of the Heroine Ariyana and a Map of territories, on this blog.
It is a play for  the youth to act and put up to spread the word of conservation through drama hopefully in an open air, live theatre, which will attract the younger children  towards Nature, Conservation and Recycling, and all the problems without heavy philosophy, and boring monologues. I feel it is no use telling adults, we have to show the children in their own world and without computer graphics.
So friends do have a read, download and review. DO let me know what you think, I am open for all criticism -good and bad!
So Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to you & your families!
Here is a lovely hymn by Cecil Alexander: All Things Bright and Beautiful
The hymn was first published in 1848 in Mrs. Cecil Alexander's Hymns for Little Children. It consists of a series of stanzas that elaborate upon verses of the Apostles' Creed ( Wikipedia)
There is a beautiful version with music do have a look: http://youtu.be/FT_oDqOEGpc
Alexander's text reads:
1.
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,

All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

2.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings.

All things bright ...

3.
The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them high and lowly,
And ordered their estate.

All things bright ...

4.
The purple headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;−

All things bright ...

5.
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,−
He made them every one:

All things bright ...

6.
The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
We gather every day;−

All things bright ...

7.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

All things bright ...

(Amen)
‘Due to the third verse's endorsement of the class system, many later versions and performances of the hymn omit it. The United Church of Canada includes a fourth verse, which seems particularly appropriate to Canadian geography: "The rocky mountain splendour, / the lone wolf's haunting call, / the great lakes and the prairies, / the forest in the fall.’ (Wikipedia)

Mother Dove

Hello my friends my readers! Here is a poem very close to my heart I wrote for all the mothers in the world. It is through our children that we realize what it is to be a ‘Mother’. A wonderful yet thankless life long job!

It is only when we are away from them do we realize their worth,it is when we feel helpless that we remember them, …..when in trouble, when we are sad, successful, or happy we remember our mothers!

Any loving mother will say ‘I don’t need a mothers day, just clean up your room do your home work OR just take good care of your kids and spouse, and it will be a celebration for me!’

But I say why not? They deserve it! So , HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the Moms in the world! Hey, you make the world go round!

The poem is called ‘Mother Dove’. It is based on the concept of a mother her sacrifices and her wondering if her children we will see her through till the end.

So enjoy a cup of coffee and also the poem!

Mother Dove

Flap, flutter, and flight,

There they go!

Their first flight in the sky,

Independent and alone,

Soaring above,my dear white doves,

So high, they have flown?

Off they went!

Their wings a flutter,

Cutting soft marks on my face as if they utter,

‘Here I go, you have held me with you for so long,

here I go far and long’

Leaving soft white feathers, as if to say,

‘That’s all you will get of me now ,to hold on, so long’,

While many nights before,

They had been pink squirmy bundles of life,

Squeaking away, looking up hungrily,

to me for food, shelter and hope,

I gave all three and more,

Sheltered them in my nest, fed them everyday,

Kept the shrill evil circling swoopers,

The slimy sliders, the wicked walkers,

The predators away,

with sharp eyes and beak,

through night and day,

Told them of the worms, the birds, the bees, seeds and the trees,

Encouraged their every flight and fall,

So that one day they would fly to cover,

Mountains,seas,and towers,

Look! See! How far they have gone!

They now soar in the wide blue,

And I wonder if they shall see me through,

My final flight,

My final fall.
