Waiting For The Muse

Hello friends! Has it ever occurred that you love to create and that creativity just doesn't come to you? OR you have a favourite band/ musician and you are waiting for them to release a song and you wait and wait? But isn't it also true that the adventure is in the wait and the chase? Life's destinations are the same, its the journey that is the challenge. Well here is a poem on the Muse! Enjoy!

Waiting for the Music

Is it that the flowers speak to the bees?

Or the leaves whisper to the trees?

And the shimmering dark ponds, gaze at Venus at night?

And when shall the moon shine out that light?

As we wait for the whistling winds to blow,

In the distance the fireflies glow,

When will we hear the music sweet, we ponder and wonder, we look, we seek?

When shall the muse strum her songs?

We have been waiting  just far too long!

And thus we gaze and thus we wait,

On her door steps and near the gates,

When shall she open her bolted doors?

And send her mellifluous music across the shores?

What Do the Stars Say?

Hello my friends, my readers! My country India has put an Orbiter to Mars called the Mangalyaan- YAY! We have reached so far using technology, yet we all are still following the stars from earth and celebrating our festivals, fasting, shopping, praying. Where does science and cultural beliefs, start and end? OR do they merge more and more now? In India, before we get married to anyone,we are cautious about the presence of the planet Mars in the birth chart-well what happens now?  Well here is in your face all Mars Haters! Countries are spending millions to get there so ‘show some respect Mon’ like they say in the West Indies! How much do we believe the horoscopes in this internet age, or do we carve our own destiny? I think, we all, may not be able to stop the turning of Mars or Saturn but we sure can make, create and change our destiny to an extent, thanks to the million miles between the planets and us ,our creator is giving us a chance! So Good Luck to you all! And like they say in Star Wars ‘May the Force be With You’.!
Here is a poem and keep stirring that Coffee!

What do the Stars Say?

To believe or not believe
that is the question.
The moment we come to life, that moment destiny turns,
The planets millions of miles away,
Follow us in their gaze,
Should we believe what they tell us,
or should we find our own ways?

Do the stars guide our life?
Do they define our deeds done
Or should we follow our ,hearts mind or soul,
Or the many planet positions?

The predictors tell you, the past present and future,
But ‘Free Will’,will get in the way,
We get in out lives what we Will,
And the planets keep turning away.

In them does the future lies?
Should we heed what the predictor advise,
or our own?

On our own,
We have to plant the seed sown,
Cut the weeds which have grown,
Pour water and trim hedges,
And make the garden beautiful,

The sun will shine as it should,
Bees will buzz and birds tweet,
Then rain,clouds,snow or sleet,
Go on in their lives,
Each moment unique,
Each moment alive,
Each moment unique,
Each moment our own,
Our own to seek.

Naturally Wired

Hello my readers, my friends!  A new city, a new month and a new thought! Am in the new place and getting visits by the stray cows, monkeys and dogs who probably think my garden is a ‘drive in restaurant’! Well, I don’t bother them too much, I let them chomp on for some time and then drive the visiting creatures away.  Now that we humans have occupied their areas, we have to live with each other in peace. And, I finally watched the movie ‘Avatar’, yes, I waited for it to come on TV! I know, I know, a bit late, but nevertheless I  loved it, a tad slow but it had a good message of what might happen if we don’t live in tandem with nature.
This reminded me of a poem I wrote in frustration. It was a wonderful sunny winter day, when I decided to fine tune a poem on poverty. What kept on bugging me were two helicopters which kept on circling above my head! (My husband was posted in the ‘field area’ of the army-hence the helicopters) There was some VIP visit due, so they were practicing! But in that process they were not only annoying me but also, sleeping babies, and birds which flew in all directions confused! Then, later, I saw cows being stoned and driven away back to their barns as their ‘grazing time’ had ended for the day! I was amazed at how much pressure we give these animals, I never knew that the poor cows had to also follow army timings!!  Then, there came a time when we ladies would freak out when we heard a bell in the middle of the night, only to find out that this ‘wandering bell’ was a large black buffalo who had not returned, and would graze through the night!
So, the poem below was written while working on another one. It speculates on how life would be in the future, I have written it in short sentences, as if a computerized voice is saying the lines.  So have a cup of cold coffee and enjoy! Do let me know what you think!

Two helicopters circling above my head,
Oh! I remember, all the birds are dead!
A motor car running on the side,
Oh I remember……all the buffalos have pulled so hard they died!
Acid drops keep falling on my head!
Everywhere pollution has spread!
I am so alone yet I talk all the time?
Oh, I remember……… on my phone and online!
Acidity is burning my insides!
Oh! I remember………………. All vegetation is finished or dried!
Can’t feel any pain or cry?
Oh! I remember………….an artificial heart pumps inside!
